Introduction to CBD Oil for Anxiety

Cannabidiol (CBD) is the second most common cannabinoid found in a cannabis plant, and the most abundant cannabinoid in hemp plants. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter in your body. It plays a critical role in the state of your mental health. If you have abnormally low levels of serotonin, the chances are that you might be living with depression. On the other hand, you might have anxiety.

Usually, professionals treat low serotonin with a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Examples of these include Zoloft and Prozac that are available by prescription.

Is it Possible to Overdose on CBD?

For you to overdose on CBD as an average-sized human, you would need a significant amount of the compound. If we were to give a rough estimate, we’d say anything between 350 – 380 servings or so. What’s more, is that you would need to consume this ridiculously large amount of CBD in a short period. 

Usually, when people overdose on a drug or compound, they do it by accident. This is especially so for people who do recreational drugs. For you to consume CBD to the point of overdosing on it, you have to be very intentional about it. 

Because CBD doesn’t often breed addiction, there’s not much of a chance that you’ll do it because you’re giving in to your urges. However, if you find the willpower to consume that much CBD, your body will likely reject it without digestion. In other words, you might just puke a lot.

If you buy CBD of high quality, you can expect it to contain little to no toxic materials. So, even if you consume slightly above the usual 50 mg, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
